Swiss watchmaker OMEGA is pleased to announce that young golf superstar Michelle Wie has joined Ernie Els and Sergio Garcia in the luxury brand’s family of international golfing ambassadors.
The Omega Golfing Family also includes Korean player KJ Choi and Danish lady golfer Iben Tinning. As a sport of character, golf is a perfect complement to a watch manufacturer like Omega.
The prestige Swiss brand is one of the few watchmakers in the world to boast a history and tradition that can compete with that of the noble sport of golf.

Michelle Wie was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on 11 October 1989. She was four when she first began playing golf. At the age of ten, she became the youngest player ever to qualify for a USGA amateur championship, the USGA Women's Amateur Public Links Championship.
By the age of 11, Michelle had won nearly all the junior events she had entered. In 2002, Michelle was the youngest semi-finalist ever in a USGA amateur championship. The following year, she became the youngest ever to win the US Women’s Amateur Public Links. Since the beginning, this young golf phenomenon has proved herself one of the longest hitters ever, routinely knocking her drives over 300 yards.
Michelle turned professional in October 2005, just before celebrating her 16th birthday.
As of 22 February 2006, Michelle is ranked 3rd in the women’s world golf rankings. In addition to all the golf tournaments she plays, Michelle continues her high school education, and is an excellent student.
